4.5.08 - EFFECTIVE 04/05/08 - TAG™USA makes an official final stance regarding the Vortex TT engine
The membership and support that has helped build TAG™USA/TAG™ International has expressed their discontent and feel that the spirit and intent of TAG has gone in the wrong direction, members have been forced not just within the TAGUSA rules but within other organizations to purchase multiple engine packages to test on race day to see which engine package will best suit the needs to win, this comes at a major cost factor which questions the spirit and intent of TAG.
TAGUSA has placed the Vortex TT engine in the same category as the Comer, Sonik, engines regarding weights, this will support the heavier and larger driver with an engine package that will help them be competitive and have the same chance to enjoy the TAG concept. Major sponsors and supporters have also expressed their concerns towards the expense and cost that purchasing multiple engine packages and the associated parts that are required to compete go against the spirit and intent that they have come to support in TAG.
Therefore TAG™USA has changed effective immediately the weights regarding the Vortex TT engine and this has been adjusted in the rules section at www.tagracing.net

3.3.08 - TAG™ USA has just released the 2008 Vortex TT engine rules.
We have looked at the past results from major races around the country and along with the feed back from the competitors; membership and tech officials feel that in re-evaluating the engine we have addressed the performance issues.
The control engine that TAG™ USA received for homologation was compared and re-inspected to other engines along with track testing, dyno testing and in looking at every aspect we have implemented changes that we feel are necessary to gain parity.
TAG™ USA will share this information with the other organizations and work together as a team to make sure the competitor has an even playing field as much as possible.

Thank you

3.3.08 - MG Tire has submitted a product update that TAG Racing International / TAG USA has approved. The only change to the tire submitted is the designater from SLE to HZ the tire is the same product with a new designater HZ--White w/red lettering. While last years White SLE is still legal it is replaced by the HZ. There are a number of the White SLE tires in the pipe line and in racers hands as stated both tires are legal for competition.

1.25.08 - TAG™ USA has just released the 2008 rules, which brings us to a position that requires some explanation as to why the Vortex TT engine has been left TBA. We have been looking at the past results from major races around the country and along with the feed back from some of the competitors and membership feel that we need to revaluate the engine. The engine that TAG™ USA first set up must and will be compared to another engine to see if changes have been made, we will be looking at every aspect to make any changes that we feel necessary to gain parity.
TAG™ USA will share this information with the other organizations and work together as a team to make sure the competitor has an even playing field as much as possible. This test and evaluation will take place as soon as possible and TAG™ USA will have rules and spec’s pertaining to the Vortex TT out very soon so competitors can get the year moving forward. Stay tuned for further information regarding this engine.
